Poor Corporate Neighbor

To all my neighbors, animal lovers and caretakers:

I am writing this as I am deeply saddened by the intentional destruction of the habitat of a feral colony which many of us have been feeding for about 8 years or more and are lovingly referred to as “Kroger Cats” in our neighborhood.

This has happened simply because the lessees of the 7 Eleven store have pushed the issue and 7-Eleven has chosen to go along with this. Shame on 7-Eleven. This is a company that not only has its roots in Dallas and has profited much from the community but professes to be a Community oriented company.

When a company profits from a specific community, they should participate and put forth the effort to participate in the likes/desires of the neighborhood or community from which they profit. An business, should have even higher societal objectives as they pertain to their neighborhood, no matter where they what business, more so “convenience goods” . After all, the neighborhood accepted their store. In addition, since they sell “convenience” products and about 80% of their sales comes from a very close radius and the same neighborhood they are refusing to support.

Well, I guess what is good for the goose is good for the gander, as they say, so if 7-Eleven does not want to be part of the community, we, as a neighborhood/community should oblige them and allow them to be outsiders. Therefore I will never be buying any gas and/or products from any 7 Eleven again. And specially from the location at Forest Ln /Greenville Ave. nor from the Central and Forest Ln as I believe both share the same ownership. Even if they are not, they are both 7-Elevens.

I urge each and every person who cares about animals to quit buying from all 7-Elevens and even more so from the 2 stores mentioned herein. I have stopped and will be telling everyone on Facebook and Twitter of the situation. Shame on the lessees, shame on 7-Eleven. Mobil-Tetco as they are registered (Texaco) should be also ashamed for having such entities as partners.

They just could not stand the feeding box and a couple of shelters, well, here is the video of how they and Mr. S----, who also owns part of the land, maintain the property. He is very quick to be “holier than thou” for us feeding on HIS property. But, this is how he maintains it, seems hypocritical to me.

Also, take a look at some photos and you decide ...

I hope the top management in 7-Eleven Corporation and Mobil-Tetco have more backbone and interest in the neighborhoods from which they profit than the immediate management. It is time for them to demonstrate that this was something that individuals did and not part of their corporate structure. The ball is in their corner. They have their right, we have ours.
Let’s make sure they hear this loud and clear. Our dollars can speak volumes.

It is time to spread the word. Please tell everyone you know.

The Ampegy Opportunity and the Lift Off Event in Houston

I have just returned from one amazing and exciting event The Ampegy Energy Lift Off in Houston. I have been to several launches and other company events in my life, but have NEVER ever seen such an electrifying event as the Ampegy Lift Off.

The speakers were enlightening and dynamic and we each received a free copy of speaker Flip Flippen’s book. Other speakers were: Astronaut Mike Mullane.

Also, Ampegy, the energy retail side of Spark Energy, paid tribute to wounded troops by hosting HelpingaHero.org home giveaway at its official lift-off event. At the start of the general rally, HelpingaHero.org was awarded a soon-to-be-built custom-built home to a disabled Iraq war veteran and Woodlands resident, who had no idea about his exciting surprise. Ampegy will be the lead donor for the home for Specialist LeVine by donating $10,000. Also, Ampegy will provide one year of free electricity for the completed home through Spark Energy. This is a veteran who was wounded in Iraq and lost his sight...wow, what a company.

Not only were they generous with theHelpingaHero.org, but they treated us like kings, with a hug and delicious paid lunch, as well as, an evneing event with music and food as well.

One class act !
Thanks guys.

Was so impressed that I am now energized and ready to go !!
